High BP ups Cognitive Decline

High blood pressure ups cognitive decline

People with high blood pressure are likely to face increasing risk of mild cognitive decline, a condition in which a person has problems with memory, language, or mental function, a new US study has found.Uncontrolled high blood pressure is already known to cause stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure.
A team led by Christiane Reitz at the Columbia University Medical Center, New York, found that high blood pressure - also known as hypertension - was associated with an increased risk of all types of mild cognitive impairment.
